You can have Three Bars (and any of Rohde's other horse art) remarqued or personalized by the artist. Visit our custom orders page!
Three Bars, a beautiful Thoroughbred stallion with unique facial markings, has had more influence over the American Quarter Horse breed as a whole than any other horse. When he was foaled in 1940, Three Bars looked so full of promise that his owner felt he'd "hit the jackpot", and from that came the horse's name. (Three bars across in a slot machine means you've won the jackpot!) An AQHA Hall of Famer, Three Bars sired 29 AQHA Champions, 4 AQHA Supreme Champions and 317 Racing Register of Merit earners. Among his many famous offspring were Mr. Bar None, Gay Bar King, Sugar Bars, Lightning Bar, Steel Bars, Tonto Bars Gill, Zippo Pat Bars, and Bar Money. His grandson Doc Bar became one of the most influential sires of cutting horses in history. In this portrait, artist Heather Rohde has portrayed Three Bars wearing a fancy western show bridle with silver ferrules. You can purchase Three Bars unframed or framed under glass in a beautiful brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. We also offer a deluxe canvas giclée version that has been hand-stretched over a pine support and beautifully presented in a solid wood double-tone brown frame. Ready to hang on your wall right out of the box! Your Three Bars limited edition horse art comes personally hand signed and numbered by Rohde, includes a Certificate of Authenticity and is of exceptional quality. You are buying direct from the artist!
