Would you like to have your own Barbaro ORIGINAL painting? Rohde accepts custom orders! Have questions? Please visit our ordering information page or contact us!
Going into the 2006 Kentucky Derby, Barbaro was undefeated having won all of his six races. When the powerful bay colt won the famous mile-and-a-quarter classic by a remarkable 6-1/2 lengths ahead of his closest rival, horse racing fans believed that he just might be the Triple Crown champion that we've been waiting for since Affirmed earned the title in 1978. Sadly, it was not to be. Barbaro's gallant fight to survive after his tragic injury will live on in the hearts of the many thousands of people whom he touched and inspired. Long live the memory of this king of the turf! Artist Heather Rohde has captured Barbaro in all his glory in this fine double portrait. Quote on bottom of piece reads: "He is greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own."Your Barbaro race horse art is available unframed or framed in an absolutely beautiful brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. We also offer a deluxe canvas giclée version that has been hand-stretched over a pine support and beautifully presented in a solid wood double-tone brown frame. Ready to hang on your wall right out of the box! Barbaro is personally hand signed and numbered by the artist and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. Get yours before this exclusive edition is sold out!
