Each of these legendary horses has left an indelible mark on the history of horse racing and the hearts of fans nationwide. The artist, Heather Rohde, has captured the special beauty of each horse in lifelike head portraits. Among other great horses, 6 of the 11 Triple Crown winners of the twentieth century made the list (Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Citation, Count Fleet, War Admiral, and Affirmed). There are also three father/son pairs: Man o' War/War Admiral, Bold Ruler/Secretariat, and Tom Fool/Buckpasser. I'm sure many of your favorites are here.
