Rags To Riches became the first filly to win the prestigious Belmont Stakes in 102 years when she captured the event in 2007. Rags to Riches outdueled the field of 6 colts to win by a head over the favorite, Curlin. The Belmont Stakes, the longest and most grueling of the Triple Crown races, has been won by a filly only two other times in the history of the race! Rags to Riches is a granddaughter of Seattle Slew through her great sire A.P. Indy, and a great-granddaughter of Secretariat! She raced seven times and won five starts (four of them Grade I wins).
