Despite having been a challenge to train, Count Fleet developed into a Triple Crown champion (1943) and excellent sire. The son of 1928 Kentucky Derby winner Reigh Count, Count Fleet was owned by the wife of John D. Hertz, best known for the rental car company bearing his name. In 14 starts as a 2-year-old, Count Fleet never finished out of the money. He did even better as a 3-year-old, winning the Kentucky Derby by 3 lengths, the Preakness by 8, and the Belmont by 25 (a record that stood until 1975). In a Blood Horse ranking of the top 100 U.S. Thoroughbred champions of the 20th Century, Count Fleet was ranked #5. Now you can honor the glory of Count Fleet with artist Heather Rohde's limited edition fine art portrait of the great horse! Quote on bottom of piece under the horse's name reads: "Going into a race, I thought he'd have to fall down to get beat, and even then I thought he could get up and win. He was that good." You can purchase Count Fleet either unframed or framed under glass in a deluxe brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. Your Count Fleet horse racing art is hand signed and numbered by Rohde and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. You can also purchase Count Fleet in Rohde's set of all eleven Triple Crown winners at a great price!
