Assault (Bold Venture x Igual) was the only Texas-bred Thoroughbred to win horse racing's Triple Crown (1946). He was foaled on the huge King Ranch, the establishment which also bred the first registered American Quarter Horse, Wimpy P-1! Due to a hoof injury sustained as a foal that resulted in a permanent malformation, Assault was nicknamed "The Club Footed Comet". Racing longer (six years) and carrying more weight than any other Triple Crown winner plus triumphing over several physical and health problems, Assault's impressive racing career was truly an inspiration! Assault was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1964.Bring the beauty of Assault into your home with these high quality fine art reproductions, created from artist Heather Rohde's original painting! Quote on bottom of this fine art piece reads: "He was all heart". -- W. Mehrtens." You can purchase Assault either unframed or framed under glass in a deluxe brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. Your Assault race horse art is hand signed and numbered by the artist and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
