Add this fine art tribute to horse racing star Exceller to your home!
Exceller (Vaguely Noble x Too Bald by Bald Eagle) was a U.S. Hall of Fame racehorse who competed at the highest levels in England, France, and the United States, earning more than $1.6 million. He is the only horse to ever defeat TWO Triple Crown winners in the same race: Seattle Slew and Affirmed (1978 Jockey Club Gold Cup)! Exceller was known for his powerful, exciting bursts of speed in the home stretch of his races. In 1991, Exceller was sold to a Thoroughbred breeder in Sweden. Years later, some tragic news reached the United States: Exceller had been killed in a Swedish slaughterhouse around 1997. The shocking manner of Exceller's death helped inspire a large rescue movement to find loving, dignified homes for retired Thoroughbred racehorses. You can remember Exceller with artist Heather Rohde's fine double portrait of the great horse. Exceller is available unframed or framed in a very nice brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. Your Exceller horse racing art is hand signed and numbered by the artist and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. Exceller is a must have for the lover of fine thoroughbred horses. You are buying direct from the artist! You might also be interested in Rohde's portrait of Ferdinand, another great racehorse with a similar story.
